Red, white and you! There are major patriotic vibes happening at this outdoor engagement party. This couple wanted their celebration to be reflective of the special family memories close to their hearts, specifically those of their favorite summer holiday. The occasion called for two decorated photo walls and was brought to life with bright flowers, a deliciously fresh menu, and an American classic: a snow cone machine! All of these personal details made the engagement party on the 4th of July a night the bride and groom will never forget.
If you celebrate Valentine’s Day at all than you’d probably agree that the holiday is about more than just the love of your partner, it’s also the perfect opportunity to celebrate your best friends, sisters, pets, parents, and anyone you care about. It’s a fun opportunity to spoil those people you love with something a little extra sweet. This is exactly what we had in mind when we put together a Galentine’s Sleepover - except until like when we were ten - this version is filled with bubbly!
As always, AC Photography captured every detail so beautifully.
Details are important with any party but the best thing about hosting a girls night in is that your friends are going to love anything you have planned. After all, that’s why your best friends to begin with - right?! We kept it simple with a selection of Rom-Coms (although truth be told - we ended up watching true crime documentaries instead!), popcorn, and a Nail Polish station.
Chantel at Glass City Cupcakes whipped up the most adorable assortment of sugar cookies that were perfect for our sleepover theme this Valentine’s Day. Some resemble glasses of bubbly while others featured a fun play on the Netflix logo by using Chick Flicks in it’s place.
As you can see, our miniature Goldendoodle Brody gets to enjoy all of the perks of any party we’re hosting at our house.
Valentine’s Day is the perfect holiday to break the rules with a little dessert before dinner but it’s always a nice gesture to offer your guests something a little more substantial. Charcuterie boards were pre-set on the tables and paired with Red Wine Mules.
We styled our eat-in kitchen area with an assortment of balloons and a tablescape featuring florals from Hafner Florist.
Most of the items pictured below were picked up from our local Homegoods store. If pink plates and champagne coupes aren’t something you’d use often in your home - be sure to hit up the After Valentine’s Day Sales this year so you’ll have them stocked up ahead of next season. With the low prices you’re sure to get, you won’t have to feel bad if you end up only pulling them out to use once or twice a year.
Cyndi wasn’t lying when she said Girls Just Want To Have Fun. Whether it’s Valentine’s, Galentine’s, or any other holiday or not - having a girls night in was fun when we were younger and it can be just as fun now. Drinking champagne in your jammies and vegging out while you relax with your girlfriends is just got for the soul. I hope you enjoyed all of the details from this good old-fashioned slumber party.

If you get as excited for the holiday season as I do then you will love this wine-tasting backyard Friendsgiving party filled with feminine details. Thanksgiving is a time to gather with loved ones and give thanks, and a Friendsgiving party is the perfect excuse to do so on more than one occasion and for a more casual get together with your girlfriends. I was inspired to start planning an intimate party for my friends where we could congregate and celebrate our friendships as well as our favorite season. With the Autumn leaves beginning to change color, I knew a backyard soirée was the way to go.
The foundation of the décor was a color palette which included an assortment of pinks, creams, oranges, and burgundy’s. I felt this was the perfect non-traditional mix of colors to set the scene for this Autumn party. One of my favorite features was a custom-built wine tasting display with curated wines from Martha Stewart Wine Co. The contrasting shades of wine against the white board was strikingly beautiful and lent itself perfectly to the party’s color palette.

“Any party that greets us with a glass of wine gets an A+ in our book! But seriously, how great is this custom display bearing wines of different colored varietals; red, white, rosé! Guests could take their pick as they entered this feminine Friendsgiving and wine tasting in one. After all, what’s Friendsgiving without wine? So wine-not combine them in a creative way. And when we say creative, we mean it. The Event Prep designed the backyard dinner beautifully with seasonal florals, a cozy lounge to sit at-complete with a fringe chandelier hanging from a tree-and a decadent dessert bar. It surely was a treat to all who attended, and to all of us who can draw from it inspiration for our own Friendsgivings!”
An array of charcuterie boards were paired with different wine samples from the wine tasting display that sat atop a vintage dresser and was draped with a cozy fall blanket. The wine glasses had custom labels on the front to let guest knows which type of wine they’d be sampling. If a guest was interested in trying a wider selection- we also had wine flights available on wood paddles in the most darling miniature wine glasses. The custom wine glasses were created using a Cricut via Michaels.
Why would we veer from tradition when a Fourth of July BBQ is the perfect way to celebration our nation’s independence?! Especially when it can look as good as this one! Cassandra Clair of The Event Prep went above and beyond for her gathering, but in a way that is ultra easy to recreate for your own celebration! With festive cocktail recipes like Peach Kombucha Sangria and Rosemary Lemonade, plus a Bourbon Float to boot, you’ll be singing this party’s praises all summer long. And don’t forget to whip up these patriotic popsicles while you’re at it! - As Seen On Inspired By This

Maybe we don’t always put too much thought into it, but The Fourth of July is truly a unique holiday. All in one, we give thanks for our independence, we honor those who fought and continue to fight for our freedom and we celebrate a future in which our children can grow up, freely follow their hearts and boldly chase their dreams. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow represented all at once. With that as my inspiration, I set out to plan a party that captures the timelessness and charm of the holiday. What better place to start than my own backyard!
Now, having a backyard celebration doesn’t mean you’re beholden to hot dogs and paper plates. For this party design, my goal was to combine feminine elegance with vintage Americana to create a timeless sophisticated look that can easily be recreated by any host or hostess.
There are few things I love more than a dining al fresco and enjoying a few cocktails with your besties. Here in the Midwest, Cinco De Mayo seems to always signal the break of wintery weather, and believe me, it’s cause for celebration!
Colorful florals and a beautiful tablescape helped to create a bridal shower that was both festive and elegant. Traditional Mexican Talavera Tiles served as the main source of inspiration for the design of this party and similar prints were incorporated throughout the stationary suite, photo booth and drool worthy dessert display.
Easter is the perfect holiday to gather around a table with family and friends and enjoy the renewed energy that Spring brings. A color palette mixed with soft pastels and pops of color help to bring this floral infused gathering to life. Miniature terra cotta flower pots served as our place cards and allowed for a fun favor that guests could take home with them. Fresh eggs were used as the vase filler for our beautiful floral arrangement - which was no doubt a the center of attention on our table!
Our Brunch Board (a fun twist on a classic charcuterie board) was created by mixing desserts & brunch staples like donuts, mini waffles, pancakes, macaroons and of course - some Easter candy! Guests were also able to enjoy a gorgeous dessert display made up of a Rice Krispie cake with lace bunny ears, truffles, cupcakes and more. This Easter party was the perfect way to celebrate the start of the Spring season!
As soon as December rolls around I know it’s time to get festive and I do so in the only way I know how – with lots of glam details, great drinks, and a dessert display so sweet you’ll forget calories event exist. When it comes to holiday décor, especially for Christmas, I believe more is much merrier. Faux fur ribbon, glittery white ornaments and a decked out oversized archway – yes, please! I fell head over (leopard) heels for how my black and white themed décor came together to set the scene for a fun holiday party.
